Album – What Doors Do

Caveplex / What Doors Do

What Doors Do

Nine tracks. Eight doors.

An observer enters the same world as the people he watches. Behind each door is an ordinary moment, revealing enough to become a story. What you find through them is yours.

The writing

The lyrics reveal people through ordinary actions, brief conversations, and small details. The observer leaves room for the listener to interpret.

In The Door Does What Doors Do, “He parks the car facing out” introduces the departure before it happens. In He Had It Worse, “The cousin lost her job / He lost two” reveals competition through the conversation itself.

In Text Me When You Get There, “For the town they both live in” makes an ordinary weather check stand out. In Everything He Taught Her, “You raise them to walk away” gathers the story into one plain sentence.
